GitHub Desktop for Linux
GitHub doesn't publish a Linux build. This is the actively-maintained community fork — packaged as a GPG-signed apt repository so it installs and updates like any other system package.
Small, sharp, MIT-licensed tools — built for our own use, then given away. Starting with the Linux build of GitHub Desktop that GitHub never shipped.
# add the signed repo, then install — updates arrive via apt

# openSUSE
$ sudo zypper install ./GitHubDesktop-linux-x86_64-*.rpm# portable — no package manager, runs anywhere

Projects
Everything here is open source, MIT licensed, and maintained because we run it ourselves.
GitHub doesn't publish a Linux build. This is the actively-maintained community fork — packaged as a GPG-signed apt repository so it installs and updates like any other system package.
The pipeline that publishes the apt repository above, pulled out into a tool anyone can run. Point it at a directory of .deb files and get a signed apt repository on storage you own — no hosted service, no reprepro to learn.
Not installable yet — the design and decision records are public while the CLI is built.
We open-source the tools that turn out to be useful beyond our own infrastructure. New releases land here as they ship.
How we ship
Every package in the apt repository is GPG-signed, so apt verifies it before installing. Release assets ship with SHA-256 checksums.

Because it's a proper repository, new versions arrive through your normal apt upgrade — no re-downloading a .deb by hand every release.
Nine builds per release covering x86_64, arm64/aarch64 and armhf/armv7l, in .deb, .rpm and AppImage form.
